Research

Spearheaded by Dr. Nadia Mykytczuk, our test work is carried out at the Goodman School of Mines at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario.

Research at Laurentian University

Our Partnership with Laurentian University was facilitated by the Ontario Centre of Excellence and is invaluable to the work we do.

The test work has also been financially supported by the Ontario government through grants. In late 2020, BacTech secured samples of arsenopyrite concentrate from six mines in PE. From the six samples, three were selected to be the material chosen for a bioleach test program to be conducted at ALS Labs in Perth, Australia under the guidance of BacTech’s Dr. Paul Miller. The test work will be used to ensure the processing meets the government’s arsenic deposition standards as well as focusing on maximizing gold recovery. Given the fact we built a plant in China that processed material from over twelve different mines (ie input) we think the design for a PE plant would be very similar.
